Born in 1928 in Hanau, Germany, he learned goldsmith. From 1958 until 1993 he was teaching Industrial Design in Kassel, Ulm and Hamburg. His lifework is consisting of several stages of development, from a creative artisan to a vanguard Industrial Designer. In 1958 he designed the classic cutlery “mono-a”, which became the best sold cutlery after the war. The “Deutsche Technikmuseum” in Berlin conceived in 2003 a retrospective about the Industrial Designer, who lives nowadays in Berlin.
