Wentrup am Feenteich opens in Hamburg this August: A new concept and destination for international art collectors
Starting from August 23rd, pulpo joins the latest up-and-coming gallery space in Hamburg: Wentrup am Feenteich. Initiated by Tina and Jan Wentrup, it will become a unique destination for art collectors and enthusiasts in an impressive art nouveau villa with an outdoor sculpture garden.
For two years, pulpo will be present at this location with a varied collection of our beautiful products designed by Sebastian Herkner, who has also designed the interior of the gallery. Herkner is a long-standing collaborator of Jan and Tina Wentrup, having designed their gallery in Berlin’s Charlottenburg neighbourhood in 2019. Herkner will furnish the new space in Hamburg with signature items such as his Bent floor light (designed for Pulpo Products), his Ona chair (designed for Freifrau Manufaktur) and his Savignyplatz table (designed for Man of Parts).
Tina and Jan Wentrup, co-owners of Wentrup am Feenteich, say:
“As we all adapt to a post-pandemic future, we wanted to create a new kind of meeting place for the art world, in which art and knowledge can be experienced differently. Wentrup am Feenteich’s location and architectural environment urge viewers to consider art’s relation to space and context. This is also a place for reflection, exchange and dialogue, where curious minds can be nourished by other creative disciplines, like performance, design and architecture, or by fields like science and philosophy.”
